Lead vessel of Maersk's Triple E class of ultra-large container ships. At delivery in 2013 she was the world's largest by capacity (about 18,340 TEU). The Triple E class (Economy of scale, Energy efficient, Environmentally improved) is designed for Asia–Europe trade and set a benchmark for efficient, slow-steaming container shipping.
