Role overview
The 4th Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a bulk carrier, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's machinery and systems. This role involves working closely with other engineers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the ship. The bulk carrier transports dry goods such as grains and minerals, requiring a high level of mechanical expertise to maintain the cargo handling equipment.
The day-to-day duties of the 4th Engineer include performing routine maintenance tasks, monitoring the condition of machinery and systems, and making repairs as needed. The 4th Engineer will also be involved in fuel management, water treatment, and other critical systems. Additionally, the 4th Engineer will participate in safety drills and training exercises to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

What we look for
- Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a 4th Engineer.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience working on bulk carriers or similar vessels.
- Must have a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must hold a valid medical certificate.
