Role overview
The 3rd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Product tanker, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and related equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices. The 3rd Engineer will work under the supervision of the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 3rd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on engines, pumps, and other equipment, as well as monitoring and analyzing performance data to optimize efficiency. The 3rd Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs, and for participating in safety drills and training exercises. Additionally, the 3rd Engineer will work closely with other members of the engine department to ensure seamless operation of the vessel.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 3rd Engineer on a merchant vessel.
- Must have a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must hold a valid STCW certificate, including survival craft and rescue boat training.
