Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on our Oil tanker vessel, responsible for maintaining and operating the ship's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently. The 2nd Engineer will also assist the Chief Engineer in managing the engine department.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the ship's engines and equipment, monitoring fuel consumption and optimizing engine performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for supervising junior engineers and oilers, and providing training and guidance as needed. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in drills and training exercises to maintain emergency preparedness.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid STCW Chief Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a tanker vessel.
- Must have a strong understanding of engine maintenance and repair procedures.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
- Must be proficient in English and have good communication skills.
