Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Crewell LNG vessel, responsible for maintaining and operating the ship's engines and related equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and experience working with LNG vessels. The 2nd Engineer will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's engines and equipment, monitoring and analyzing performance data, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for supervising junior engineers and engine room crew members, and for ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in drills and training exercises to maintain and improve the vessel's emergency response capabilities.

What we look for
- Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate, such as a Second Engineer's Certificate of Competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on an LNG vessel.
- Must have a strong understanding of LNG vessel operations and safety procedures.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with crew members and shore-based personnel.
- Must hold a valid medical certificate and be able to pass a drug test.
