Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Crude oil tanker, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's machinery. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The 2nd Engineer will report to the Chief Engineer and play a critical role in maintaining the vessel's mechanical systems.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's engines, pumps, and other machinery. They will also be responsible for monitoring the vessel's fuel consumption and optimizing its performance to minimize waste and reduce emissions. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in safety drills and training exercises to ensure the vessel is compliant with all relevant regulations.

What we look for
- Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a tanker vessel
- Must have a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues
- Must hold a valid medical certificate and be physically fit for duty at sea
