Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a bulk carrier, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices. The 2nd Engineer will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's engines, pumps, and other equipment. They will also be responsible for monitoring and controlling the vessel's fuel consumption and emissions. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in safety drills and training exercises to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

What we look for
- Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier
- Must have a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must hold a valid medical certificate
