Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a bulk carrier, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently. The 2nd Engineer will also assist the Chief Engineer in managing the engine department.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties at sea will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the main engine, auxiliary engines, and other equipment. They will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining fuel oil systems, lubrication systems, and other critical systems. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in safety drills and training exercises to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer.
- At least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel type.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a medical examination and obtain any required visas.
- Valid passport with at least 6 months' validity.
