World’s Largest Sailing Yacht Floats Out In France

A groundbreaking milestone in luxury maritime travel was marked this week as the Orient Express Corinthian, set to become the world’s largest sailing yacht, was floated out at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. The 220 m (727 ft) vessel, boasting 26,200 gross tons, will accommodate 110 passengers and is slated for its maiden voyage in June 2026 

The yacht features three innovative SolidSail rigid masts standing 100 m tall, supporting 1,500 m² of sail and capable of full wind-powered propulsion under favorable conditions. Complemented by a hybrid LNG-diesel system, the design aims to sharply reduce emissions 

Equipped with modern eco-friendly systems—including AI-based marine mammal detection, dynamic positioning to avoid anchoring, and UV-treated ballast water management—the vessel reflects strong environmental priorities
