Athens, July 2, 2025 – Greek LNG ship operator Alpha Gas has signed a five-year Wärtsilä Lifecycle Agreement covering two of its liquefied natural gas carriers, marking a further expansion of its partnership with the Finnish marine technology firm.
The deal, formalised in the second quarter of 2025, applies to two vessels equipped with four Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engines each. It provides Alpha Gas with round-the-clock remote technical support, real-time diagnostics, and predictive maintenance planning aimed at improving vessel reliability and optimizing lifecycle costs. The agreement is expected to help Alpha Gas predict maintenance expenses more accurately and extend intervals between major overhauls.
According to Peter Lonski, Alpha Gas Technical Director, the partnership supports the company’s strategic goal of achieving high operational efficiency: “This agreement … will help us achieve that goal, while at the same time allowing us to accurately predict our maintenance costs
