On April 19, 2025, Disney Cruise Line celebrated a significant milestone as its largest vessel to date, the Disney Adventure, was floated out of the Meyer Werft shipyard in Wismar, Germany. This event marks the completion of the ship’s exterior construction and the beginning of its outfitting phase.
The float-out ceremony featured appearances by Captain Mickey and Captain Minnie, accompanied by fireworks and cheers from onlookers. Tugboats carefully guided the 208,000-gross-ton ship out of the construction hall into the harbor, where it will remain docked for several months as interior work continues.
Designed to accommodate approximately 6,700 guests and 2,500 crew members, the Disney Adventure ranks among the world’s largest cruise ships. It is also notable for being the first Disney Cruise Line ship to be based year-round in Asia. Scheduled to commence operations from Singapore on December 15, 2025, the vessel will offer three- and four-night roundtrip cruises under a five-year agreement with the Singapore Tourism Board.
Upcoming installations on the ship include Disney Cruise Line’s iconic red funnels and yellow lifeboats, as well as new attractions such as Marvel Landing’s Groot Galaxy Spin and the line’s first roller coaster, Ironcycle Test Run.
The float-out of the Disney Adventure represents a significant step in Disney Cruise Line’s expansion and commitment to providing innovative and immersive experiences for its guests.
