On May 8, 2025, Danish offshore service provider ESVAGT and South Korean shipping company KMC Line formalized their partnership by signing an agreement to establish a joint venture named KESTO, aimed at supporting South Korea’s burgeoning offshore wind industry.
KESTO plans to leverage ESVAGT’s extensive experience in operating Service Operation Vessels (SOVs) and KMC Line’s deep-rooted knowledge of the regional maritime landscape to provide comprehensive support services for offshore wind projects. The joint venture is already in discussions with partners on several Korean offshore wind farms slated for development from 2027 onwards.
South Korea has set ambitious targets to develop up to 18.3 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind capacity by 2030. The collaboration between ESVAGT and KMC Line aims to contribute significantly to this goal by offering high-quality maritime support services tailored to the needs of the offshore wind sector.
