Expert Answer

Start with the suction side before adjusting the pump. Check the service tank level, suction valve position, clogged strainers, air leaks, relief valve condition and fuel temperature. If pressure remains low, inspect pump wear, coupling slip and downstream leakage. Link the result to the engine maker's manual before changing set points.
