Full Definition

The United Nations Code for Trade and Transport Locations (UN/LOCODE) is maintained by UNECE. Each code is a country's ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code plus a three-letter location identifier (e.g., NLRTM = Rotterdam, Netherlands). It uniquely identifies ports, airports, dry ports, and other trade locations and is used in Bills of Lading, shipping manifests, and logistics systems worldwide.
